Quick Start Guide

Pre-requisits for Setting Up Splexit

▶ Splexit Cloud Account

• Browser (Desktop preferred / Mobile Tablet possible)

▶ Splexit Presenter App

• Smartphone / Tablet (min. iOS 12 or Android 10)

▶ Splexit Viewer App

• Spatial Device (Quest 2/3/Pro, Pico 4/4E, Vive Focus3/XR Elite)

▶ Project Editing and Presentation

• Wireless Network Router (with Internet Connection)

Make sure you meet all these requirements. It will take approximately 15 mins to get the first steps right.

1. Creating Your Splexit Account

• Visit the Splexit website: https://app.splexit.de

• Click on "Sign Up" to create a new account

• Complete the registration form with necessary details

• Verify your email to activate the account

2. Investigate Your Dashboard

• Log in to your account

• Explore Dashboard Sections

• Visit Overview of Tour Projects

• Hit "Edit" on the demo project and learn how it is structured

3. Installing the Splexit Companion App

iOS

• Get "Testflight" on App Store

• find the app here:https://testflight.apple.com/join/KJUgjYKI

• install it via testflight

Android

• Visit Play Store (Android)

• Search for "Splexit"

• Download and Install

4. Installing Splexit Viewer App on XR Devices

At the moment:

• write to [email protected] and request the app

• receive the app apk-file

• install it via side loading or sidequest on Quest

• install it via app download to Pico or Vive devices

In future:

• Visit VR/AR App Store

• Search for "Splexit Viewer"

• Download and Install

• Start the App

5. Setting Up Your First Project

• Go to Your Dashboard at https://app.splexit.de

• Enter Editor-Mode of your one of your Projects

• Edit the Title of your Project to a different one

• Exit the Editor-Mode in the lower left corner

• See the changes in your Project View

6. Start your first presentation

• Ensure all devices are on the same Wi-Fi network (and network has internet connection)

• Open Splexit App on Android / iOS device

• Hit "Splex It!"

• Log in to your Splexit account

• Wait for the Startup Routine to finish successfully

• Open Splexit App on another Android / iOS device

• Hit "Join"

• Open Splexit App on your XR viewer device

• See how devices connect automatically on the remote control device (number on the green bubble)

7. Get Ready to Present

• Go to Your Splexit Compagnion App on the Presenter Device

• Make sure your XR Devices are still connected (watch the number in the green dot)

• Hit "Update" in your Project Overview screen

• Klick on the Menu Button (•••) of the Project Tile

• Download Your Project to Compagnion App and XR Devices simultaneously

• Wait for Downloads to Finish

• Make sure XR Devices are not entering Sleep Mode during the Download

• Participants Put on XR Devices

8. Your First Spatial Presentation

• Tap on the Project Tile to select it

• Slide the "Spex it!"-Slider

• Navigate to your first Chapter

• Select your first Splex

• Put Media-Files or 3D files to the virtual canvas

• Go back to the Splex selection page via the back arrow top left

• Hit the pause button to put participants into pause mode

• Participants put off AR/VR devices

• Leave the tour and go back to your tours overview via the back arrow

9. Put Your Presentation Somewhere else

• Make sure you have a Wi-Fi Connection on every Device (Internet is not needed anymore)

• Start up the App and the Devices

• Wait for Startup Routine and connection to establish

• Since you already downloaded the content to all the devices earlier, you can now hit "Start Tour"

10. Now Get Ready for Some Advanced Stuff

• Create a new project

• Edit that project and add some of your own media

• Download it to your devices ->

• Go to marketplace and get a third party project

11. Troubleshooting Tips

• Check Wi-Fi - Connectivity (are you on the correct network?

• Ensure Devices Are Updated via "Update" after you made changes in the project editor and download them

• When uploading media in the editor, make sure to name them properly and without any special characters or spaces

• Go to FAQ to see if your problem is described already
